PACIFIC  COAST  MARITIME

Pacific Coast Maritime was established in 1975 to provide service between Seattle and ports in Alaska along the Aleutian Islands and the Yukon River area using a coastal freighter. Two vessels were added and service was expanded
to Norton Sound, the Pribilof Islands, Bristol Bay and South-central Alaska.
As customer needs changed, PCM responded with tug and barge service
in 1983. The barge HML 240-2 was added to the fleet in 2000. She is capable of carrying up to 105 loaded 40-foot containers of deck cargo. In 1995,
PCM was the first to introduce a state-of-the-art 4000 HP tractor tug, Gyrfalcon, designed for ship assist and towing, to the Alaska market.
